A Challenge Of Faith
When the disciples of Jesus asked him how he was able to miraculously cure a lunatic child while they could not, he answered them:
"Because of your lack of faith. I tell you with certainty, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
Matthew 17:20
"I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."
John 14:12
In short, with a small amount of faith you will work miracles.
I have a webcam set up at mustardseedchallenge.com in which the entire world can view a mustard seed. I challenge Christians world-wide to have a little faith in God and His word and use that faith to work a tiny miracle the purpose of which to show the world the glory and truth of their God; move this mustard seed to the final location circle, i.e "from here to there".
If Christians shy away from this tiny challenge, then they will have demonstrated their lack of faith. I am only asking what God has asked for: to have a little faith. After all, if you don’t have faith in God’s word how can you expect the unbeliever to? A chance to lead by example?
If they take up the challenge and the mustard seed does not move miraculously[i] then it will prove that the faith of all Christians (the faith of a mountain?) cannot move even a tiny mustard seed and God’s word is false.
If the mustard seed moves miraculously then it will be a miracle for the world to see and prove God’s word is true: that faith in Him can work miracles.
If Christians take up the challenge, success or not, they can at least be praised for their faith and I think God would be pleased in that alone. Failure to try however is a failure of faith.
